Some races are simply competitions. Then there's the Allgäu Triathlon.
This isn't just another event on the race calendar—it's a legend. A true cult classic, defined by the sound of countless cowbells, the breathtaking backdrop of the Bavarian Alps, and iconic sections like the infamous Kuhsteig, where spectators create an atmosphere so electric that they seem to carry athletes all the way to the top.
At CUORE, we're incredibly proud to be the official apparel partner of this legendary race. But what inspires us even more than our passion for high-performance apparel are the people and the stories behind every race number.
One of those stories belongs to Finn Sattler. His journey perfectly captures what makes the Allgäu Triathlon so special—and how a sports-loving teenager became a professional triathlete.
From the Sidelines to the Professional Field
Finn is Allgäu through and through. He grew up just 20 minutes from the legendary Allgäu Triathlon course, and long before he ever clipped into his pedals or laced up a pair of running shoes, he experienced the race from every possible angle: first as a spectator immersed in the incredible atmosphere, later as a volunteer on the course, and eventually as a guide for Hannes Hawaii Tours.
His path to professional triathlon was anything but conventional.
Until the age of 18, handball dominated his life. Alongside it, he tried nearly every sport imaginable—from swimming and football to tennis. Endurance, however, always seemed to come naturally. At local running events in Kempten, he regularly finished near the front despite doing little specific training.
The spark for his triathlon journey came during a sleepless night when he was just 16 years old. Watching the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona live, he turned to his parents the following morning and simply said: "I want to do that."
And that's exactly what he did. With little experience but plenty of determination, Finn lined up for his first triathlon wearing nothing more than swim shorts and a T-shirt. During the pandemic, he bought his first second-hand road bike and quickly earned a place on the Kempten triathlon team. From there, his progression was rapid—from Germany's 2nd Triathlon Bundesliga to the 1st Bundesliga, racing for Roth.
Taking the Leap to the Pros
After making a name for himself over the past two seasons in middle-distance amateur racing—including an outstanding fourth-place finish in his age group at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Marbella—the move into the professional ranks was the natural next step.

For Finn, it's about much more than race results. He thrives on the direct competition—the shoulder-to-shoulder battles against the world's best athletes. Just as important is the social side of the sport. Although triathlon is often seen as an individual discipline, Finn believes it's the community, shared training sessions, and pushing each other to improve that make the sport truly special.
His philosophy perfectly reflects the spirit of the Allgäu Triathlon: "If you're not having fun, there's no point doing it." For him, success isn't a destination but a continuous process of learning, improving, and becoming just a little bit better every single day.
A Perfect Fit for Chasing Seconds
At the professional level, marginal gains make all the difference. Athletes who spend hours optimizing their position in the wind tunnel don't compromise when it comes to equipment.
Through his connections with Hannes Hawaii Tours and 808project, the organizers behind the Allgäu Triathlon, Finn was introduced to CUORE apparel. He had already spotted British professional triathlete Lizzie Rayner racing in a CUORE suit at IRONMAN 70.3 Marbella and was immediately impressed.
But looks alone weren't enough.
"The suit had to convince me during the fitting. Otherwise, I would have said no," Finn recalls. It didn't take long. Thanks to CUORE's unique tailoring options—including customized arm and leg lengths—his tri suit fits like a second skin.
"It's the first suit I've worn that fits perfectly on both my arms and legs. The quality is simply outstanding." And performance isn't the only advantage. The bold design also stands out in the middle of a crowded race, making it easy for his girlfriend to spot him as he flies past.
Racing for Home Glory
When Finn lines up at this year's Allgäu Triathlon, his journey comes full circle.
He won't be standing on the sidelines as a volunteer or cheering from the crowd. Instead, he'll be one of the athletes racing at the very front, fighting for the top positions on the roads he knows better than almost anyone.
Wearing his perfectly tailored CUORE tri suit and fueled by extra motivation, he'll have one major advantage that no equipment can replace: "Knowing my family and friends are out on the course is the biggest motivation I could ask for."
And when the atmosphere on the legendary Kuhsteig reaches its peak, there will be only one goal on his mind: Winning on home soil.
We'll be there alongside the course, cheering Finn on every step of the way.
See you in the Allgäu!
